A Hindu Sena Mahapanchayat was organised in New Delhi on Sunday in protest against the violence that had erupted in Haryana’s Nuh last month. The mahapanchayat, which was being held without permission from the police, was halted over ‘hate speech’ being delivered at the event.

Controversial religious leader Yati Narsinghanand, accompanied by 40-50 supporters, had reached Jantar Mantar on Sunday morning to participate in the Hindu Sena Mahapanchayat.

In a video, Yati Narsinghanand can be seen addressing the gathering. Narsinghanand can be heard saying, “I want to tell one thing to Hindus: if your population continues to decline while the Muslim population increases, then the same thing that happened a thousand years ago in this country will happen again…”

The hate speech by the controversial preacher was quickly shut down as the Delhi Police took swift action and dispersed the crowd. The Delhi Police is currently investigating the video and assured that legal action would be taken in this matter.

Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati is no stranger to police cases. His controversial remarks have landed him in legal trouble in the past as well.

He had been booked for a statement where he allegedly called for the demolition of madrasas and the Aligarh Muslim University using “gunpowder”.

A case was also lodged against him for making controversial remarks against Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Narsinghanand was also accused of another hate speech at a Dharam Sansad in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. He was one of the organisers of the three-day Dharm Sansad, where a call was given to take up arms against Muslims and to ensure that “a Muslim does not become prime minister in 2029”.
