Hero MotoCorp teases the all-new Karizma XMR 210 with Hrithik Roshan

When it comes to iconic Indian bikes from the golden era of the 2000s, one bike that immediately springs to mind is the Hero Karizma. The model has been an integral part of the Indian motorcycle industry and, after being out of the competition for a while, it is making a bold comeback as the Hero Motocorp Karizma XMR 210. Hero MotoCorp has started teasing the return of this iconic motorcycle and has shared a few teasers with enthusiasts via its social media handles. Most recently, the company released an extended teaser and from this, a few key details about the bike have been noted by eagle-eyed enthusiasts. Also, to add to the excitement of this icon, this new bike will be launched and endorsed by none other than the original brand ambassador, Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik Roshan, via his official Instagram handle, shared a small throwback scene of him sitting on a Karizma with the original advert tune. Just a few days later, he also shared a picture of himself wearing a t-shirt with the launch date of the brand-new Hero MotoCorp Karizma XMR 210. The actor shared the post on his official page with the caption stating, “The comeback we’ve all been waiting for! New Karizma XMR – Launching 29.08.2023. Get ready to #LiveTheLegend.”

Talking about the bike itself, it was noted from the teaser that the forthcoming Karizma XMR 210 will boast a sleek fairing with a sharp design, along with a substantial windscreen. This design cue was discerned from the silhouette of the bike shown in the teaser. Eagle-eyed viewers also observed that the mirrors on the new Karizma XMR have been mounted on the fairing itself, deviating from the handlebar-mounted mirrors of Hero’s Xtreme 200S faired bike.

Upon further observation, it was also seen that the upcoming Hero MotoCorp motorcycle will come equipped with a clip-on handlebar for a sporty riding stance. Additionally, a muscular-looking fuel tank will add to the aggressive appearance of the legendary sports bike of India. Moving a little behind the fuel tank, it was also observed from the teaser that the Karizma XMR will have a split seat arrangement, contributing to its sporty look. What was also noted was that the Karizma XMR will feature some ducts that will be placed right underneath the pillion seat in the tail section. As of yet, the exact function of these ducts is unclear.

On the suspension side of things, the Karizma XMR 210 will most likely come equipped with a telescopic fork suspension system in the front. Meanwhile, on the rear, it is expected that the suspension will be a monoshock setup. Additionally, one of the most significant highlights on the Karizma XMR 210 will be the inclusion of dual-channel ABS, marking a first for Hero motorcycles. Now, for the heart of this icon, it is anticipated that Hero MotoCorp will be giving this new bike an all-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It is expected to be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and possess a displacement of around 210cc, in line with its name.

Lastly, in terms of pricing, it is believed that Hero MotoCorp will be pricing this new bike very competitively, as the company has a reputation for having very competitive pricing strategies. At the moment, experts have estimated that the pricing for the Karizma XMR 210 will be around Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, in terms of competition in the market after its official launch, it will compete with popular models like the Yamaha R15 V4, which is currently priced between Rs 1.81 lakh and Rs 1.94 lakh, and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, which retails for between Rs 1.92 lakh and Rs 2.02 lakh. Experts have also highlighted the fact that the Karizma XMR 210 is expected to lean more towards being a sports tourer, setting it apart from the Yamaha R15 V4 and carving a niche market for itself.
