The BMW XM can run in electric-only mode for around 50 km at a top speed of 140 km/h.
BMW has launched the XM performance SUV in India priced at Rs. 2.60 crore (ex-showroom). The XM will be imported via the CBU route, and deliveries will commence in May 2023.
The BMW XM is the first standalone M model since the BMW M1. The SUV has a peculiar design featuring a large kidney grille with illuminated surrounds and sleek LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights at the front and slim LED tail lights with quad exhausts at the rear. The XM rides on massive 23-inch wheels.
On the inside, the BMW XM comes with a dual-tone theme with Vintage Coffee Merino leather combined with Soft Nappa leather. It has a five-seat layout with a one-piece seating area and diamond-shaped patterns. The headliner has 100 LEDs embedded into it.
Other features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen infotainment head-unit with BMW’s latest iDrive 8 software, a head-up display, connectivity tech and driver assistance systems.
The BMW XM is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 plug-in hybrid that produces 644 BHP and 800 Nm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The SUV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).
The XM also comes with a 25.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which allows the SUV to run in electric-only mode for around 50 km with a top speed of 140 km/h.
