Upcoming Tata Nexon facelift to get connected tail lamps: New spy pictures

The test runs of the Tata Nexon facelift are currently underway, and with each sighting, we are learning more about the potential updates that will be included in the new version of the compact SUV. In the latest sighting of a test mule for the updated Tata Nexon, which was spied in the open, we discovered that the new version will feature tweaked lights at the front and rear.

Starting with the front profile, the new Tata Nexon facelift will have revised headlamp design. Drawing inspiration from the Tata Curvv concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, the new Tata Nexon facelift as seen in the pictures by Carversal will sport daytime running LED strips and split LED projector headlamps, similar to the ones seen on the Harrier and Safari models. The daytime running LEDs are angled downwards from the outer corners, while the headlamps will be housed in blacked-out enclosures.

Moving to the rear profile of the Tata Nexon facelift, changes will be made to the tail lamp layout as well. The compact SUV will feature an LED connecting bar that runs across the width of the boot lid between the tail lamps. The tail lamp inserts will also have a new arrowhead-like design. Overall, the silhouette of the updated Nexon remains similar to the current model, but it is expected to have a revised front fascia and boot lid design.

To get a new improved cabin

Previous sightings have confirmed that the updated Tata Nexon facelift will also receive a new cabin layout, including highlights such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Nexon EV Max and a new fully digital instrument console. Additionally, it will come equipped with a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring a digital screen in the center, as first showcased in the Curvv concept. This new-generation steering wheel has already been spotted in test mules of the Safari facelift and Punch EV.

In terms of mechanicals, the Tata Nexon facelift will retain the same range of engine options as the current model. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder 120 PS turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.5-litre four-cylinder 110 PS diesel engine will continue to be available in the updated Nexon, with a 6-speed manual transmission offered as standard. However, there are rumors that Tata Motors might replace the 6-speed AMT in the Nexon lineup with a new 6-speed DCT sourced from the Altroz automatic, promising a more refined and smoother driving experience.
