JE Technology Desk: Apple has already introduced the new features and some details about the next generation iOS17 at its WWDC 2023 which includes the iMessage upgrades, keyboard upgrades, some AI features, and new utility features like NameDrop. However, iOS 17 will still take a couple of months to reach out to users across the globe and till then, Apple has planned yet another iOS update and it is iOS 16.6.
As per the reports, the company has already rolled out the update to select beta testers and has brought some of the key features. Further, the report suggests, that iOS 16.6 will come up with these features.
iMessage Contact Key Verification
One of the primary safety features would allow users to confirm that they are conversing with the correct recipient and not with an unauthorised third party who is secretly monitoring the chat. For example, if two or more users enable the function, they will be able to communicate. Apple will also provide an alert if there is a breach in the cloud servers.
Beats Studio Buds Icons
The rumours state that the iOS 16.6 beta also includes two extra colour icons for Beats Studio Buds. These icons would stand in for the transparent and ivory colour options for earbuds.
iCloud For Windows Prompt
According to the source, Apple may also add a new iCloud login prompt for Windows login attempts if the iPhone and Windows devices are not connected to the same Wi-Fi. It would put pressure on the necessity for both devices to be on the same network in order to progress and recommend an alternative login network.
