Day 4 of the WTC final also saw a major controversy involving Shubman Gill.
The incident took place when Gill poked a ball outside off by Scott Boland and got an edge in the process, which was then brilliantly caught by Cameron Green at gully. Green was confident that he had collected the ball but the umpires were not very convinced, and it was referred to the third umpire.
After lengthy examination Richard Kettleborough adjudged Gill out, who was not very happy with the decision.Â
Soon after the screenshot and the video of the moment went viral on the internet with many claiming the ball was grounded before being collected by Green.
Several ex-cricketers and Gill and Mohammed Shami took a dig at the umpire for the controversial call.
