Spotify has been offering offline music streaming for premium users for a while. According to the tweet by Daniel Ek, CEO of Spotify, the music streaming platform is working on a new feature called “Your Offline Mix”, which offers a mix of recently played songs even when the connection is low.

According to the screenshot shared by Daniel, these playlists could be as long as three hours. It also indicates that the feature will work even when the device is in flight mode, and is likely to be available for both Android and iOS devices.

Unlike an offline playlist, where a user has to manually download songs and podcasts, the new feature is likely to automatically generate an offline playlist based on the recently streamed songs, and this feature is likely to remain exclusive to premium subscribers.

As of now, there is no official confirmation on the release date. However, given the official teaser, users should soon be able to listen to their favourite songs and podcasts even when the device disconnects from the internet. Right now, if you are playing music on Spotify and lose internet connection, the playback will pause until you regain internet access, and this new feature is likely to fix this.

Spotify Premium costs Rs 117 per month and offers ad-free music listening and group sessions, with the ability to offline stream and an option to download up to 10,000 songs on five devices. Similarly, there is also a mini pack, which costs Rs 7 per day, and family plans for two cost Rs 149/month, while a family plan for up to six people is priced at Rs 179 a month.
