Their engagement was made official on June 8, after the family shared an official invite. On June 9, they exchanged rings. Reportedly, the couple has been in a steady relationship for the past five years. However, neither of them had ever admitted it in public.

News about Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s engagement has been doing the rounds for the past few weeks. It is said that the couple will get married later this year. Today, June 9, the couple finally got engaged at Varun Tej’s plush home in Hyderabad. Their close friends and family members attended the intimate ceremony. Varun Tej’s cousins, which include the entire Allu and Mega family, were in attendance. Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Sai Dharam Tej, Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Allu Aravind, among others marked their presence at the engagement.
Varun Tej shared some happy pictures from his engagement with Lavanya and wrote, “Found my Lav! @itsmelavanya (sic).”

Varun Tej met Lavanya Tripathi for the first time on the sets of Mister in 2017. It is said that the couple became close friends during the film’s shooting. Eventually, their friendship blossomed into love and they began dating. However, the duo decided to keep their relationship under wraps.
It is only during the shooting of their second film, Antariksham 9000 KMPH , that the news about their relationship surfaced. The two eventually started attending parties and were spotted together at events as well. When Varun Tej’s sister and actress Niharika Konidela got married in 2020, Lavanya was one of the few celebrities to attend it. Her presence added fuel to the rumours about their relationship.
Going by the reports, Varun Tej decided to take their relationship to the next level. He proposed marriage to Lavanya on her birthday, which falls on December 15. Later, the two stars spoke to their respective parents and got their approval for their wedding. They also remained tight-lipped about their relationship.
