Finally, after stalling for months, the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has announced the pricing for its highly awaited five-door lifestyle off-roader, the Jimny. Along with the announcement, the company has shared a new television commercial (TVC) to showcase the SUV’s off-road capabilities. The new TVC depicts the Jimny conquering challenging terrains and reaching its destination for a noble cause.

Maruti Suzuki has released the latest promotional advert on their official Nexa Experience channel. The TVC begins with a Jimny standing in a long queue on a mountain road, which becomes blocked due to falling rocks. Subsequently, the Jimny emerges from a dust cloud, symbolizing its triumph over the rocks and its ability to overcome the blocked road. The car is then shown driving through deserted plains, kicking up dust along the way.

The TVC further showcases the Jimny crossing a river and traversing a forest. The driver is then seen navigating through the thunderous night and camping outdoors. Following this, the SUV tackles snowy terrains effortlessly before finally reaching its destination. At the end, the driver delivers medicines to people in need in a remote village.

In addition to the TVC, the company has recently announced the price of this highly anticipated SUV in the country. Maruti Suzuki stated that the new Jimny five-door will be priced at Rs 12.74 lakh for the base-spec Zeta manual variant, and it will go up to Rs 15.05 lakh for the top-spec Alpha automatic (dual-tone) variant. The Jimny is available in two variants: Zeta and Alpha. Additionally, there is an additional dual-tone variant of the Alpha variant.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the Jimny with both manual and automatic transmissions. The prices for the manual variants are as follows: The base Zeta variant with manual transmission is priced at Rs 12.74 lakh, while the Alpha variant is priced at Rs 13.69 lakh. Above the Alpha variant, there is the Alpha (dual-tone) variant, which is priced at Rs 13.85 lakh. Moving on to the automatic variants of the five-door Jimny, the Zeta variant is priced at Rs 13.94 lakh, and the Alpha variant is priced at Rs 14.89 lakh. Finally, the Alpha (dual-tone) variant with the automatic transmission option has a price tag of Rs 15.05 lakh.

Regarding the powertrain, the Jimny is equipped with a single option. Maruti Suzuki offers its tried and tested 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. According to the company, this naturally aspirated powertrain generates around 104.8 PS and a maximum torque output of 134.2 Nm. In terms of mileage, the manual versions claim a fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl, while the automatic variants promise 16.39 kmpl. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro four-wheel-drive system is standard across all variants, featuring a manual transfer case and a low-range gearbox.
