By Dev Ankur Wadhawan: Sachin Pilot has no plans of breaking the Congress, the party said today, while sources said that Pilot will wait for the high command’s orders before deciding on his future course of action. This comes amid Pilot’s long-drawn fight with party colleague and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
“Sachin Pilot has no intentions of leaving or breaking the party,” Congress in-charge of Rajasthan, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, said in a statement as the party prepares for elections in Rajasthan and looks to repeat their Karnataka performance in the state.
Addressing speculation about Pilot forming his own party, Randhawa said: “These things are happening in the media. Pilot did not want to form a (separate) party earlier, and he does not want it now.”

“The issue of Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot was discussed for four hours. A formula has been made to settle the dispute between the two. 90 per cent of the disputes between the two have been resolved. Had there been no agreement between the two, they would not have come together in front of the media in Delhi that day,” he stressed.
Sachin Pilot has been at loggerheads with Ashok Gehlot since the party came to power in Rajasthan in 2018. The tussle between the two peaked in 2020, when, despite a raging pandemic, Sachin Pilot moved to a resort near Gurugram with his loyal MLAs, pushing the Congress government in Rajasthan to the brink of collapse.
Intervention by the Gandhi siblings helped quell the rebellion then and the government survived. Pilot, who was Gehlot’s deputy then, stepped down from his post. He remained with the party but his fight with Gehlot continues till date.
