    Delhi stabbing case: Accused Sahil sent to judicial custody over Sakshi’s murder


    By Arvind Ojha: Sahil Khan, the man behind the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Delhi, was sent to judicial custody on Saturday. He was caught on CCTV as he stabbed the girl, Sakshi, several times in Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy area.

    The Delhi Police also registered a case against Sahil under the SC/ST Act. It added that efforts are being made to file a charge sheet against Sahil at the earliest.

    A few days earlier, Sakshi’s cousin brother had told mediapersons that their family belongs to the Dalit community.

    SAKSHI MURDER CASE

    Sakshi was stabbed over 20 times and bludgeoned to death with a cement slab allegedly by Sahil on May 28. A day later, Sahil was arrested by the police in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. The 20-year-old was a fridge-AC repairing mechanic. Sahil and the minor victim were allegedly in a relationship and had an argument a day before the grisly murder.

    On Thursday, police told PTI that they have recovered the knife used by Sahil to kill the teenage girl. He had allegedly thrown away the knife after the crime into the bushes at Rithala.
