By India Today World Desk: Meta Platform Inc’s (META.O) Instagram is down for more than 98,000 users on Sunday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, reported Reuters.

Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from various sources, including users. More than 180,000 users reported issues with accessing Instagram at the peak of the outage, with over 24,000 users in Canada and over 56,000 users in Britain reporting problems, reported Reuters.

Many Instagram users took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to complain that they are having issues logging in to their accounts and refreshing their feed.

While the exact cause of the outage was not immediately clear, Instagram users reported difficulties logging in, posting content, sending messages, and accessing certain features of the app. Instagram has not issued a statement regarding the possible outage.

The app says “Sorry, something went wrong,” or just “sorry, couldn’t refresh feed,” whenever trying to load a user’s home feed.

However, after sometime, some users on Twitter said that Instagram has started working for them.

Instagram, much like other social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, has become an important tool for individuals and businesses around the world.

On May 18 too, Instagram reported a global outage as many users complained that they faced issues in accessing the feed, viewing and posting stories. Some were unable to log in to their account, while others saw zero views on their latest reels.

Instagram also suffered a global outage on March 9, 2023, due to which 30,000 users were affected worldwide.
