With the AI race fast heating up with new products popping up almost every day, existing ones are being constantly updated in order to stay relevant in a fast-moving space. After Google launched its Bard chatbot to the general public, Microsoft on Friday announced a bunch of updates to Bing Chat to keep up with the latest innovations and trends. Let’s take a look at them below.

The new updates are headlined by support for images in chat answers. Microsoft says that since Bing search is an inherently visual experience, it’s bringing more of that to chat. Users will now see images appear as part of chat responses. If you ask questions about flamingoes or capybaras, an image of these animals will appear in line with the answer.

Clicking on the image will bring up a knowledge card that allows you to see more information about their habitat, diet, lifecycle, and other facts. But animals isn’t the only area where you’ll see these new features – Microsoft says that Bing chat supports this across a wide range of topics.

Alongside this, Microsoft has redesigned the visual elements that appear at the end of text-based answers. Answers for shopping, weather, finance, and autos will now be a lot more visual.

The copy-and-paste experience has been improved for when Bing chat generates code or other blocks of formatted text. You’ll now be able to copy and paste these blocks alone directly, instead of having to select them first.

Lastly, prompts now include text formatting – you can add formatting like paragraphs, bullets, or numbering.

Microsoft says that all these features are rolling out to everyone already.
