Visa Interview Nightmare: H-1B Applicants Grilled

The H-1B visa process is turning into a nightmare for many Indian applicants. While some get approved in seconds, others face brutal questions and endless grilling.

Taking to social media one applicant from Hyderabad shared their experience of a smooth interview, but others weren’t so lucky. They claim a fellow interviewee was grilled over past criminal charges in the US even though they were dropped.

They further explained, “ The interview seemed very tough and went on for a long time with multiple stops and starts for consultation between visa officers. Surprisingly, the sound proofing was so bad that the entire conversation was audible to people around.”

This isn’t a solitary case either, another applicant shared their ordeal of getting their visa stamping refused after a Dropbox submission.

The person living in the US for eight years, posted, “Visited India for H1b stamping, Dropbox on February 11th, visa application refused February 18th, passport returned with 221g slip February 21st. Now I have to go for in person interview in Chennai on or after March as per the letter provided.”

The different experiences of the applicant have thrown the whole system in disarray. The process has become unpredictable and frustrating for everyone.

With the ongoing changes and pressure from the US government, it seems this will only get worse in the near future. It is not just getting the best qualification for H-1B applicants, they also need to survive the brutal system.
