Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is one of the most highly anticipated films among the upcoming big projects in the next few years. While the makers have maintained a lot of secrecy in terms of the film’s content and cast members, there is a new update.
For the role of Shurpanakha, Rakul Preet Singh gave her final look test earlier this month on January 8, 2025, for around three hours at the Ramayana Light stage. She is expected to join the shoot soon and further updates are currently awaited.

It seems like director Nitesh Tiwari is aiming to offer something different and this is the reason he has taken some time to finalize the cast members for different roles.
Rakul Preet has been a talented actress considering that she has played different kinds of roles in films of three languages. Although she did very limited films in Hindi after making her debut in Yaariyan, most of them have worked at the box office for their good content.

The role of Shurpanakha will undoubtedly help Rakul Preet to expand her fanbase among the audience. It is going to be a unique role compared to what she has done so far and the reason is because it is a negative role and it takes a lot of hard work for any actor to get into the zone of such characters.
Apart from the other cast members, Rakul Preet is expected to get acclaim for her performance as Shurpanakha. However, it remains to be seen if the other leads of the film take away the spotlight with Rakul Preet not being noticed by anyone at all.
