Woman Speaks Out On Racism

In a shocking incident, an Indian woman, Nida Merchant, faced alleged racial discrimination while attempting to enter Cambodia from Vietnam. Nida’s ordeal, which she shared through a viral social media post, has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the treatment of Indian travelers at international borders.

According to Nida, immigration officials subjected her to degrading behavior, mocking her and demanding she travel on a motorbike with them to gain entry. Feeling unsafe and alarmed, she refused.

Her taxi driver later informed her that Indians had reportedly been barred from crossing that particular border for months. Nida, traveling solo, was left frightened and vulnerable, forcing her to cut her trip short and return to Vietnam before heading home.

This deeply troubling experience sheds light on the systemic racism that some Indian travelers encounter abroad. While critics argue that her use of an e-visa at a non-permitted border may have been the issue, the appalling behavior of the officials raises questions about their professionalism and intent.
