Hanu Man director Prasanth Varma’s Brahma Rakshasa: Rana Daggubati Confirmed

It has been a while since a film starring Rana Daggubati as the lead was released. After Virata Parvam in 2022, Rana hasn’t had any major films as the lead. There were talks of a project with director Teja, titled Rakshasa Raju, but it never materialized, and the project was eventually shelved.

Although there’s been no official confirmation, the lack of updates has led many to believe it’s been abandoned.

Teja has since considered launching his son as the lead in a film. Meanwhile, Rana’s dream project, Hiranyakashipu, with director Gunasekhar, also fell through.

However, Rana hasn’t been idle and has appeared in supporting roles in various films like Nikhil’s Spy, Navdeep’s Love Mouli, and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. He also did a talk show for Amazon Prime Video recently.

Now, there’s an interesting development. Blockbuster Hanu Man Director Prasanth Varma initially planned a film with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. However, that project got shelved as Ranveer Singh shockingly walked out of the film without any intimation leaving Prasanth Varma totally clueless.

As per inside reports, Prashanth Varma pitched the same story to Rana, who agreed to it. Prashanth is currently wrapping up Jai Hanuman. He is also committed to do a film with Balakrishna’s son Mokshagnya. After wrapping up those films Rana’s film, tentatively titled Brahma Rakshasa, might go on floors.
