Released on January 12, 2025, during the Makar Sankranthi weekend, Daaku Maharaaj has had a decent domestic run, grossing over 90 crores in India by January 20. Globally, it crossed 100 crores, with overseas collections contributing around USD 2 million.
The film is set to release in Hindi on January 24, where it will compete with Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, a high-octane aerial actioner, and the Hindi version of the animated classic Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama.

While Sky Force enjoys high anticipation and Ramayana benefits from nostalgia, Daaku Maharaaj faces challenges in carving a space in the Hindi belt.
Daaku Maharaaj lacks pan-Indian appeal for the Hindi audience and there have been no promotions in Hindi belts, which might limit its box office impact.

Despite its decent box office performance in its local market, it has minimal buzz among Hindi audiences.
In such a scenario, if the film can touch even the 10-crore net mark it will be considered a big hit and a bonus for the producers.
There are reports that the film is finding it tough to break even in the Nizam area, so if the film can collect some crores in Hindi, it would help in compensating the minor losses.
Will Balakrishna’s larger-than-life persona captivate Hindi audiences, or will the competition overshadow the film? The coming days will reveal the answer.
