Amazon Web Services (AWS-India) on Saturday (January 18) announced the completion of a number of their community development initiatives in Meerkhanpet in Kandukur Mandal. These include a public park, a water-purifier system and newly renovated buildings for a health sub-centre and a self-help group (SHG) resource centre. They were handed over to the local community.
The new initiatives were inaugurated in the presence of MLA Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sergio Loureiro, vice-president of Global Data Center Operations, AWS.
Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy said that Amazon has set an inspiring example with its commitment to developing villages. From constructing a state-of-the-art hospital in Meerkhanpet to building essential infrastructure for women, their efforts would create a lasting impact, she said.
