Starting the next academic year, the subjects will be clubbed into one book based on semesters. This is going to bring down the load substantially.
After consultation with teacher organisations, decisions were made for the path-breaking decision.

From new academic session, first class and second class students will have one combined book for first semester and a workbook. Similarly, the second semester subjects will be clubbed into another book along with a workbook.
For classes 3-5, language subjects will be in one book, subjects will be in another book. There will be a workbook.

From 9-10, the current Hindi book will be removed and an old Hindi textbook okayed by the state government will be followed.
As for teachers and their transfers, a point system will be accorded for absentees that will be reviewed at the time of transfer. Transfers will be done by April, May based on categories.
Teachers have been asked to update their details by the end of Sankranthi vacation and about 94,000 teachers have already submitted their details so far.
Nara Lokesh has focused on education and has been working constantly to upgrade the education system to meet the changes across the world.
