An Indian-origin woman has been arrested for scamming lovestruck wedding couples on their biggest day, promising them fake wedding locations and pocketing advance money in return.
Prelyn Mohanlall, a 53-year-old woman, scammed 17 couples in South Africa, promising them dream wedding venues that didn’t exist. She took large sums of money and left these couples hanging with no real location on their special day.

While the Indian-origin woman promised that her intention was not to scam people and she was going to pay them back, her background makes her story hard to believe. She has a long history of scams, stealing from car dealerships, and defrauding a couple in the past.
On the other hand, the victims are left devasted, with one of them having to cancel their wedding at the last minute. They had to start their planning all over again with a huge loss on their budget.

Mohanlal exploited people at their happiest moments and spoilt their dream weddings for her personal benefit. It remains to be seen what punishment she will face.
