2024 is coming to an end and we are less than three days away from the New Year. People are gearing up for celebrations. On every New Year’s Eve, there is a huge increase in alcohol sales across the country.
Especially in a state like Telangana, where there is a high number of alcohol consumers, we can only imagine how high the sales will be.

Even liquor shop owners are ensuring they provide alcohol in large quantities to meet the demand. They are making sure not to display a “No Stock” board at any wine shop.
According to reports, alcohol sales in Telangana for this New Year are expected to reach around Rs. 1,000 crores. Stocks of alcohol are being sent to bars and wine shops in large quantities.

There are 2,690 wine shops in the state. Alcohol is being distributed from 19 liquor depots to these shops. As per excise department reports, liquor worth Rs. 565 crores has already been sent to wine shops and bars in the last three days alone.
Meanwhile, it is reported that liquor sales worth around Rs. 3000 crores have taken place in Telangana in December. Another Rs. 1000 crores are expected to be added by the end of December 31.

On the other hand, the Telangana government has allowed wine shops to remain open till 12 am and bars and pubs to run until 1 am on New Year’s Eve.
