It has been a long long time since South Indian star Suriya delivered a winning theatrical films. Both of his praiseworthy films in recent years – Aakashame Hadduga and Jai Bhim arrived in OTT and deprived his fans of good theatrical experience. His last film Kanguva was an outright disappointment.
However, putting an end to this long wait, Suriya is finally appearing to be coming up with something interesting this time around.

The newly released teaser of Suriya’s upcoming film, Retro was released today and it shows decent enough promise.
By the looks of it, this film is essentially a vintage action thriller with Karthik Subbaraj mark entrance characterisations. In the teaser, Suriya and Pooja Hegde look good together and there’s something to look forward to in terms of presentation.

The aesthetic cinematography and slick BGM are both the trademark traits of Karthik’s filmography and the same is the case here.
That being said, Karthik Subbaraj has the infamous habit of promising peak cinema with his teasers and trailers, but actually delivering dull and mediocre products in the end. Now, all we can do is hope he lives up to the expectations this time around with Retro, which looks promising enough.
