Crucial Weekend for Sunil After Pushpa 2

Crucial Weekend for Sunil After Pushpa 2

After a successful run as a comedian in Telugu, Sunil transitioned into playing the lead role. After a few initial successes, he soon lost his mojo and delivered continuous disasters.

Now, Sunil is putting all his efforts into making a comeback as a powerful character artist in films like Pushpa, Virupaksha, and Mechanic Rocky. He also occasionally takes on inconsequential small-budget movies for financial reasons.

While he has seen some success, doing similar roles in many movies is diluting the impact.

His role as Mangalam Srinu in Pushpa 2 didn’t have much of an impact, but since the film has been watched by such a large number of audiences, he gained some visibility, especially in the Hindi markets.

This week, there is a major Kannada release, Max, starring Kichcha Sudeep and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The film is a no-nonsense action thriller set in a single night. In the film, Sunil plays the main villain.

Max will compete with Upendra’s UI, which was released last Friday. Max movie is directed by Vijay Karthikeyaa and produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu. The music is composed by Ajaneesh Loknath.

Max follows the story of police officer Arjun Mahakshay, who reports to duty at a new police station. He soon faces an unexpected situation and sets out to solve it in 12 hours.

Sunil plays the ferocious main villain. In the trailer, he looks menacing to the Kannada audience, but to Telugu viewers, it seems all seen and done.

The good thing is that Sunil is getting significant exposure to the Kannada audience, which should help his career in the long run if Max turns out to be successful.
