Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will arrive in Erode on Thursday, December 19, 2024 for a two-day trip during which he will meet party functionaries and distribute welfare assistance to beneficiaries.
Mr. Stalin is scheduled to arrive in Coimbatore at 11 a.m. from Chennai by flight and then travel to Erode by road. He will stay at Kalingarayan Illam on Perundurai Road. At 5 p.m., he will meet party functionaries at Thangam Mahal in Mettukadai and attend the family wedding reception of V.C. Chandrakumar, former MLA and the party’s joint secretary of the propaganda wing. Later, he will return to the guest house, where he will meet representatives from farmers’ and trade associations, as well as industrialists.
On Friday, at a function in Solar at 10 a.m., he will inaugurate completed projects and lay the foundation stone for new ones in the district. He will also distribute welfare assistance to 50,088 beneficiaries to the tune of ₹284 crore and address the gathering. By 11.30 a.m., he will head back to Coimbatore and take a flight to Chennai at 2 p.m.
Around 2,500 police personnel from seven districts have been deployed for security arrangements. The deployment is being overseen by T. Senthilkumar, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore, A. Saravana Sundar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Coimbatore Range, Erode Superintendent of Police G. Jawahar and seven other Superintendents of Police.
