Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been facing backlash ever since his films Kabir Singh and Animal were criticized for promoting male toxicity.
Despite the ongoing uproar, Vanga has stood by his filmmaking approach, saying films are meant for entertainment and not moral lessons.

Recently, he appeared on Indian Idol 15 as a special guest, where a discussion about Animal once again stirred controversy. One contestant said she had issues with a particular scene, the “mera joota chato” scene, calling it problematic.
Sandeep Vanga responded by asking why there was no issue with the hero killing 300 people in the film, but the focus was on that one scene. Manasi stood firm, saying she found both problematic.

Fans of Sandeep Reddy Vanga are upset over what they see as deliberate targeting of the director on national TV. Many feel he was invited to be insulted and argue that he is being singled out because he is from the South.
They also questioned if similar treatment would be given to Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, whose films PK and OMG Oh My God were accused of disrespecting Hindu beliefs.
