Varun Dhawan Baby John Under Huge Pressure

Varun Dhawan is preparing for a comeback with Baby John. A remake of Atlee’s Their, it features Jackie Shroff playing the antagonist alongside Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi as female leads.

The film is arriving on December 25, which also marks Christmas Day, and considering that, it is expected to take a decent opening despite being a remake.

Notably, Varun has not taken an opening of Rs. 20 crores in terms of his solo films and he is possibly aiming to do that with Baby John.

In case he can take the much-needed start at the box office, he will join the list of the youngest stars with a good opening day record.

For now, Kartik Aaryan is the only young actor to get an opening of Rs. 30 crores with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 after Tiger Shroff, whose Baaghi 2 earned Rs. 35 crores on the first day.

Varun needs to record a similar start on Day 1 or else it will be a big insult for him. Things will be a little bit tough for Varun unless the film receives a positive response after the first show on the day of release.

The potential of remakes and adaptations has reduced after the COVID-19 pandemic since people have been able to access regional and international cinema on different platforms.

Baby John’s taster cut and trailer have left a positive impression on the audience. However, the buzz is still low despite that two songs have been released.

Varun has the potential to get an opening between Rs. 20-30 crores. But the problem has been his choice of films and it seems like he is trying to bring a change with Baby John.

Meanwhile, the upcoming action-drama has an obstacle in the form of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which is creating records at the box office. Baby John can get a decent opening if the impact of Allu Arjun’s film is reduced by the time of Christmas.

However, everything depends on whether audiences will decide to take their families and friends for a new film on the occasion of Christmas.
