Caitlin Clark posts six-word goodbye to former Indiana Fever teammate

Caitlin Clark left a six-word message as she bid farewell to Indiana Fever teammate Temi Fagbenle on Sunday.

The center is parting ways with the Fever after being selected by the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Expansion Draft.

After getting acquired by the new franchise ahead of their inaugural season next year, Fagbenle took to social media with a message for her Indiana teammates.

‘Thank you for a great season @IndianaFever,’ he wrote over a highlight clip against the Connecticut Sun. ‘To my teammates: we had a season of revelations and growth. So proud of all y’all for persevering.

‘Thank you for lifting me and each other. F the noise. Keep growing together.’

‘Thank you for the consistent energy, Indy fans. Y’all are solid,’ she added. ‘Very grateful. Very blessed.’

On the top comment, Clark wrote, ‘Love ya tem! Gonna miss you,’ with a heart emoji.

The USC product was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx in 2017 and played in the league until 2019 before a six-year run with several teams across Europe.

This year, he was signed by the Fever and became a key contributor to their success amid Clark’s arrival.

Fagbenle became an excellent pick-and-roll partner for Clark as Indiana went to their first playoff run since 2016. Clark assisted 21 of Fagbenle’s 54 field goals this past season.

Following the Olympic break, the team achieved a +14.7 net rating in 158 minutes, inspiring their postseason effort before losing to the Sun in three games.

Unfortunately, Fagbenle was restricted to 22 games due to injuries. Still, she made the most of her minutes and averaged a career-high 6.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

The debuting Valkyries have 11 women on their roster, including Fagbenle and six other international players. Natalie Nakase will coach the Bay Area-based team.
