Several Maoists were killed in an encounter between the Greyhound unit of the Telangana police and the Maoists in the Dense forest area of Chalpaka in Eturu Nagaram mandal of Mulugu district early on Sunday (December 1, 2024).
Though the police are yet to confirm the number of deaths it is learnt that seven Maoists were killed in the clash. Police also recovered a huge cache of weapons including AK-47 rifles.
One of the prominent faces who is believed to have been killed include Yellandu-Narsampet Area Committee Secretary Badru, who is also known as Papanna.
This is a huge setback for the Maoists and is the second big operation by the police after the killing of 10 Maoists by the Chattisgarh police in the Sukma district on November 22.
