Squid Games is set to make a comeback this Christmas. The much-acclaimed Korean series on Netflix was perhaps one of the most successful franchises to come out in favor of Netflix. The series made acult following for itself, and much like the prize money in the show, the streaming service too managed to amass a massive sum of $900 million.
The second season, however, recently fell victim to one of the worst leaks ever in the history of OTT content. While Netflix is trying to take legal action over the perpetrators behind the leaks, the trailer is set to release tomorrow. The recent video released on Twitter showcases a very grim Found Footage-type setting.

This can be an indication that the series might just shift its gears, as the “found footage” is very reminiscent of the Backrooms. A Youtube film project that showcases an endless maze of rooms that looks oddly painted in obnoxious pastel colors.
Can we expect a new level of Squid Games that takes inspiration from the backrooms? The Backrooms were a very celebrated internet phenomenon that ushered a new phase of analog horror mixed with the survival horror genre.
