APCC Chief Sharmila strongly criticized Gautam Adani’s alleged misconduct being exposed in the United States, calling it a disgrace to the nation. In the same context, she accused former AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of accepting bribes concerning the Adani case.
According to her, while Jagan’s name was not explicitly mentioned in the allegations made in the U.S., it is clear that he played a role indirectly. Sharmila blamed Jagan’s administration for driving the state’s income into severe debt and claimed his policies had burdened the people with an additional Rs. 17,000 crore.

She expressed outrage, stating, “Holding the people hostage for bribes is unacceptable.” Highlighting allegations of a Rs. 1,750 crore bribe in just one solar project, Sharmila questioned how much more was involved across other projects. She further challenged Jagan, asking if he even understood the meaning of “credibility.”
Sharmila warned that in the coming days, the financial burden on the state could escalate into lakhs of crores, further crushing its people. She described Jagan’s alleged corruption as a shame for his family, the entire state, and the nation.

She also questioned why it took a foreign country like the United States to expose these issues, demanding to know what Indian agencies like the CBI and Income Tax Department were doing all this time.
