Former YCP MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s followers were arrested in connection with the attack on the former president of Gannavaram PACSO and TDP leader Kasaneni Rangababu. Vamsi’s key aide, Olupalli Mohanaranga, along with a few others, was taken into custody early this morning around 3 AM.
The case details reveal that Rangababu, who was previously with YCP, switched to TDP before the elections. Upset with his decision, Vamsi’s supporters attacked him at the Park Elite Hotel near Gannavaram in January this year, leaving Rangababu injured. Following the incident, Rangababu filed a police complaint against Vamsi’s supporters.

In his complaint, Rangababu alleged that the attackers lured him by pretending to discuss a farmland issue before assaulting him.
However, during YCP’s rule, the case was ignored, and no action was taken. With the change in government, the case has been reopened, and the police have taken action against the accused.

Along with Mohanaranga, other supporters, including Anagani Ravi, Bheemavarapu Ramu, Babu, Surapaneni Anil, Ponnuru Seemayya, and Gurram Nani, were also arrested. Some of them were taken to the Kankipadu Police Station, while others were sent to a different station.
Reports suggest that another close aide of Vamsi, Seshu, evaded arrest, and police are currently searching for him. After the preliminary investigation, the arrested individuals are expected to be presented in the Gannavaram Court.
