DHAKA: Bangladesh foreign affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain claimed Saturday that “big neighbours” India and China have not stepped in as expected to help resolve the Rohingya crisis while noting that each country has its “own interests”.
Hossain expressed deep concern over the crisis, emphasising that if unresolved, the issue could become a global problem, not just for Bangladesh or the region but beyond.Bangladesh currently hosts over 1.2 million Rohingya refugees from conflict-wracked Myanmar, a situation that has placed significant strain on Dhaka’s resources.
