An Indian-American CEO of an AI startup opened up about how he started receiving death threats for his company’s 84-hour workweek plan. Some users even made racist remarks against the young entrepreneur.
Daksh Gupta, CEO of Greptile, is under fire after his viral tweet mentioned a gruesome schedule for employees, where the workdays stretch from 9 am to 11 pm, often sacrificing weekends as well. It reignited debate about toxic work culture and exploitation of young employees in tech companies.

After the backlash, Gupta posted a follow-up mentioning his inbox is now full of death threats and job applications. He believes this work culture is only there for the initial years of the startup and later the company will adapt to a more balanced approach.
While some users acknowledged his transparency, others were passing racist comments, comparing his mindset to his Indian heritage. Ironically, the toxic work culture was countered by some toxic social media users.
