14 Days Remand For Former BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy

Former Kodangal BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy was arrested earlier today at his residence in Jubilee Hills and was later shifted to the DTC centre in Vikarabad. He was arrested for allegedly conspiring in the attack on the Vikarabad district collector and other government officials by the Lagacherla villagers.

After getting done with the necessary medical tests, Narender Reddy was taken to the Kodangal court. Upon hearing the case, the magistrate ordered a 14-day remand for Narender Reddy. He will be in jail till November 27.

The attack happened on Monday and on Tuesday, police officials arrested 16 members and sent them to remand. Today, police arrested four other individuals, including the primary accused of the case, Suresh. Reportedly, Suresh works as a youth leader in BRS and is a close aide to Patnam Narender Reddy.

It all started when Lagacherla villagers attacked government officials when they visited the village regarding the land acquisition process of the pharma city. While the collector and deputy collector escaped unhurt in the attack, Kodangal Area Development Authority (KADA) Special Officer Venkat Reddy and Vikarabad DSP Srinivas.

That night, around 300 cops performed door-to-door searches in the Dudyala, Kodangal, and Bomraspeta mandals and arrested suspected individuals. As part of the operation, internet services were shut down in these areas. After finding out Narender Reddy’s involvement in the incident, he was taken into custody.
