Taylor Swift, who has been Anti-Trump throughout the election season, became a driving force behind this exodus as her fans were the first to jump the ship. According to reports, Swifties started leaving X within 48 hours of Trump’s win.
One of the fans documented her experience on X and claimed that the platform saw a massive rise in misogynistic content following the elections.

This was backed by reports from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue confirming the rise of hate speech on X following Trump’s victory, with phrases like “Your body, my choice” increasing by 4,600%!
All of these factors, combined with Bluesky’s focus on community-building and its similarities to the old Twitter that everyone loved, are the reasons why people are leaving Musk’s social media app.
