Actress Kasthuri Shankar, known for her roles in films like Annamayya and Bharateeyudu, is also known for her controversial statements. Recently, she stirred controversy by making offensive remarks against the Telugu community.
Speaking at a public meeting in Tamil Nadu, she claimed that Telugu people are descendants of women who served kings in the past. This statement offended the Telugu community, and multiple cases have been filed against her in Chennai and Madurai.

After registering cases, police sent legal notices to Kasthuri’s residence. But her house was locked and it is reported that the actress is absconding. Her phone is also switched off, according to sources.
Initially, Kasthuri clarified that she did not intend to hurt the sentiments of Telugus and claimed her statements were misinterpreted. She emphasized that Telugu people are like family to her and accused the DMK of spreading false propaganda against her.

Kasthuri has yet to address this news on social media. Her last tweet was on November 8. With reports of her absconding circulating on social media, it remains to be seen if she will come forward to give an explanation.
