Herschel Walker made an awkward mistake before introducing Donald Trump at a rally in Macon, Georgia on Sunday – telling people to instead go and vote for Donald Trump Jr.
The ex-NFL player and former Republican nominee was addressing crowds in his home state ahead of Tuesday’s election, with Georgia set to prove key in the race for the White House between Trump and Kamala Harris.
But instead, the 62-year-old Walker went viral for getting his words mixed up and telling people to vote for someone else.
‘This all stops Tuesday,’ Walker said. ‘When we get to the polls and vote for my friend, and your friend, Donald Trump Jr.’
Walker then tried to correct himself but if anything, mangled his words up even more.

‘Donald Trump – Jonald J. Trump,’ he said back down the microphone.
The clip immediately went viral on social media, with one fan sharing the clip and saying: ‘Herschel Walker talks like my Dad texts.’
‘Herschel Walker’s introduction of Trump in Macon might be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a minute,’ another post read.
A different fan said: ‘I see that Herschel Walker’s keen political skills are still intact after his Senate loss, as he names *three* different people that he wants Georgians to vote for as President.’
The former Heisman Trophy winner gave a speech reflecting on his friendship with Trump, saying: ‘Donald Trump is not just my friend, he’s your friend, and it is time for us to step up to the plate. It is not time for us to sit on the sideline anymore.
‘He has sacrificed a lot for this country, and in so many ways. And it really disgusts me when I hear them insult him with all these names.’

Walker ran for senate in 2022 but was defeated in a disastrous campaign with allegations that he paid a woman to get an abortion after an affair, despite his pro-life stance. Herschel denied the claims against him.
Ahead of Tuesday’s vote, Harris and Trump are neck-and-neck in most polls for the swing state of Georgia.Â
