GV Prakash Real Winner with Double Blockbuster

This Deepavali, music director GV Prakash Kumar is riding high, as the music of his latest releases, Amaran and Lucky Baskhar, has received great appreciation, lighting up both the Telugu and Tamil box offices.

GV Prakash expressed his joy over the audience’s response to his work on these films, tweeting, “#Amaran #LuckyBaskhar …two states, two blockbusters. #HappyDiwali to all of you … thanks for the lovely response to my music.”

In recent years, his focus had shifted towards his acting career, limiting his work as a composer, and he hadn’t delivered a major hit for some time.

Some of his biggest projects like Thangalaan, Captain Miller, and Japan failed to create much impact in terms of music, leading many to question his ability to connect with today’s audience as other composers, like Anirudh, went miles ahead.

Now, he’s reaffirmed with the success of Amaran and Lucky Baskhar that he is here to stay in the music scene.

In Amaran, GV Prakash’s songs may not stand out on first listen, but they grow on you with time, while his background score is particularly effective.

In Lucky Baskhar, he doesn’t excel much with the songs but compensates with a loud, impactful BGM that serves the narrative well.

Though he may have produced more memorable music in previous films, the success of Amaran and Lucky Baskhar has boosted his profile. He is also basking in the success of these two films.

Lucky Baskhar also marks Prakash’s ongoing collaboration with Venky Atluri, following the success of SIR/Vaathi, which was similarly appreciated for its music and well-received at the box office.
