Joey Jones, author of Unbroken Bonds of Battle, has shared his perspective on the ongoing exchange between Liz Cheney and Donald Trump.
After Cheney’s statement on Trump’s remarks, Jones, a combat-wounded Marine Staff Sergeant (Ret.), wrote on X, “As one of the Marines sent to fight your daddy’s bullsh*t war I just need you to know active duty and veterans say this about you and those like you all the time. We are not petty, vindictive, cruel or unstable. We’re amputated, mangled, stressed and fed up.”
Joey further expressed his disappointment by stating, “When you die OF OLD AGE you’ll be buried with Halliburton money. Your kids and grandkids will inherit Halliburton money. When you cry at night over means tweets, you’ll wipe your tears with Halliburton money. My friends in Arlington died earning Halliburton more money.”
Jones turned his traumatic, life-changing disability into a mission to improve the lives of veterans and share the perspective and gratitude he found in his recovery. Raised in Dalton, Georgia, Jones enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
During his last deployment, Jones’ team rendered safe and destroyed more than 80 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) before he stepped on an IED which resulted in the loss of both his legs above the knee and severe damage to his right forearm and wrists.
Currently, Jones is a contributor across all FOX News Media platforms, including FNC, FOX Business Network (FBN), and FOX Nation.
Jones’ stance on the Cheney-Trump drama has garnered widespread support. One user on X wrote, “Yes the senator’s son doesn’t go to war, just the poor and middle class do smh.” Another added, “A thousand truths spoken in two sentences.”
On Thursday, Trump made a pointed statement about Liz Cheney, saying, “She is a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle, standing there with nine barrels aimed at her. Let’s see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face.”
He later clarified his remarks on Truth Social, writing, “All I’m saying about Liz Cheney is that she is a war hawk—and a dumb one at that—who wouldn’t have ‘the guts’ to fight herself. It’s easy for her to talk from a distance, far from where the real dangers lie. Put a gun in her hand and ask her to fight, and she’ll say, ‘No thanks!'”
Her father wreaked havoc across the Middle East and other regions, profiting along the way. He’s responsible for so much death and likely never gave it a second thought. That’s not the kind of leadership we want for our country!” he added.
