Bagheera, directed by Dr. Suri and written by KGF director Prashanth Neel has made its release in the theatres on October 31st. Starring Sriimurali, the film sets a dark undertone, combining Indian values with Western influences.
The film tells the story of Vedanth, a young IPS officer with a vigilante persona named ‘Bagheera’. The persona of Bagheera emerges to enforce justice when the system fails to do so.

The film has a dark theme across it and takes inspiration from Hollywood vigilantes like Batman and Superman.
However, despite Prashanth Neel’s impressive storytelling track record with KGF, it seems that Bagheera’s opening performance has been rather poor.

Although the film is getting good reviews, those do not seem to convert into packed theatres. Made with a budget of ₹50 Cr., the film may fail to collect even ₹5 Cr. on its first day.
Bagheera is massively struggling to draw audiences into the theatres, with not a single show sold out completely as of now.

People have been taking to social media to express their disappointment and frustration on the issue. One user writes, “Another dark theme? Sandalwood needs something fresh!”
“Neel’s magic may be fading—people want more than just intense, shadow-filled scenes,” remarks another user.
Many critics are claiming that the audience might have lost interest in such dark-themed films after previous Sandalwood offerings like Kabzaa and Martin.
People have now begun to wonder whether this ongoing trend might leave an impact on Prashanth Neel’s upcoming project with Jr. NTR titled ‘Dragon’.
Only time will be able to tell if ‘Bagheera’ manages to overcome its slow start or does it get swept away in the sea of flops.
