Rajahmundry Layman Akkina Muni Koteswara Rao Gets Chance in TTD

A surprising addition to the newly appointed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board is Akkina Muni Koteswara Rao from Sitanagaram Mandal in the Rajanagaram Constituency of East Godavari District.

Unlike many other members, Koteswara Rao has no political background, leaving many wondering about his selection. Known for his contributions to local development and religious initiatives, Koteswara Rao has earned recognition as a businessman and philanthropist.

Rao has funded several significant projects in his hometown, including building Kailasa Bhoomi in his village with personal funds of one crore rupees, and he donated a water plant to ensure clean drinking water for local residents.

He has also contributed to temple works dedicated to Goddess Padmavati and, most recently, funded a water plant in Rajampet and a Venkateswara Swamy temple in Raghudevapuram at a cost of Rs. 5 crore.

His dedication to Hindu activities and local community service likely led the TDP government to appoint him to the TTD Trust Board, as his contributions align with the cultural and religious ethos of TTD’s mission. Alongside Koteswara Rao, another appointee from East Godavari, Jaggampet MLA Jyotula Nehru, also secured a position on the board through the MLA quota.
