Saraswati Power and Industries Farmers Demand Land Return

The property dispute between the brother and sister has ultimately led to the closure of Saraswati Power. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan had already ordered an inquiry into whether government lands were included in the 1,500 acres assigned to the company. On the other hand, farmers are demanding either the return of their land or increased compensation per acre from Saraswati’s management.

The controversy revolves around the land that the YS family acquired from farmers and others for Saraswati Power and Industries. A resident of Chennayapalem village in Machavaram mandal, Palnadu district, who sold his land for the project, shared that 15 years ago, they were promised that a cement industry would be established on the acquired land and that they would be given employment opportunities.

However, no industry has been set up, and no jobs have been provided. In light of this, the farmers are now insisting that their land be returned. Alternatively, they are demanding compensation of Rs. 18 lakhs per acre, based on the current market value. If there are still plans to set up the industry, they are urging the company to do so immediately and fulfill their employment promises.
