Shah Rukh Khan’s 2007 critically acclaimed and superhit release Chak De! India has been a fan favourite. It showcases Shah Rukh as a former hockey player Kabir Khan who was accused of being a traitor, he coaches women’s hockey team and leads them to victory to redeem himself.

Annu Kapoor the veteran actor of Bollywood said that this narrative alters the true scenario. In reality, coach Ranjan Negi led the women’s hockey team to victory.
He made communally hateful claims that Muslims are portrayed as good characters in Bollywood and Pandits are shown as the villains. His statement has also divided social media and people are having heated arguments on his comments.

Although this is nothing new of Annu Kapoor, he recently claimed that in 7 Khoon Maaf, Priyanka refused to kiss him on-screen because he was not amongst the mainstream actors.
After doing films like Mandi, Utsav, Mr. India and Aitraaz in the past, Annu Kapoor has lost his popularity. He also does a radio show named Suhana Safar with Annu Kapoor but even that doesn’t have much viewership.
