Kansas City Chiefs trade for DeAndre Hopkins in blockbuster move for the Super Bowl champions

The Kansas City Chiefs are trading for Tennessee Titans star DeAndre Hopkins in a huge move for the Super Bowl champions.

The Chiefs have needed help at the receiver position ever since Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury in week four.

Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown is also dealing with a shoulder problem while JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Hopkins is in the final year of the contract he signed with the Titans in the summer of 2023.

The former Texans and Cardinals star has had an illustrious career, being selected for the Pro Bowl on five occasions.

Hopkins has 943 receptions during his career and has scored 79 touchdowns across 174 games.

The Titans are receiving a fifth-round draft pick from the Chiefs that could become a fourth-rounder if certain conditions are met.

The Chiefs are due to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in an AFC West showdown.

The move for Hopkins comes a day after the Chiefs were linked to Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp.

It’s claimed the two teams held talks but the Chiefs were not willing to meet the Rams’ demands. They wanted somebody to take on a large amount of Kupp’s salary, as well as high draft picks.

Tennessee are now expected to discuss a move for Kupp to replace Hopkins.
