Devara Hindi: Films Crushed Under NTR!

The beginning of the final quarter of 2024 took the box office by storm as Jr. NTR’s Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva overshadowed key Bollywood releases to emerge as a major player.

The film marked Jr. NTR’s return to the big screen after 2.5 years, causing a massive buildup of excitement among fans.

This led to the film earning over ₹65 Cr. net in India, surpassing many Bollywood releases, going by trade reports.

According to Bollywood websites, Devara’s Hindi version opened with a collection of ₹7.95 Cr., earning ₹29.52 Cr. over the opening weekend. The film witnessed a massive collection of ₹48.27 Cr., making it a certified blockbuster.

In contrast, Jigra managed to collect only ₹22.26 Cr. during its first week, with an opening of ₹4.55 Cr., while ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ was able to amass ₹27.29 Cr. by its first week, with an opening collection of ₹5.71 Cr.

While Devara destroyed Bollywood single-handedly in October, Bollywood is expected to make its big comeback with two giants, ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ in November.
