Ex-NBA star Lamar Odom says Liam Payne could have been ‘hearing voices’ from drugs before death

Liam Payne may have been hearing voices before plunging to his tragic death, ex-NBA star and recovering drug addict Lamar Odom has claimed.

The former One Direction superstar died at just 31 last week after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Argentina.

Preliminary results from toxicology tests of Payne’s remains found traces of cocaine, benzodiazepine, crack cocaine and ‘pink cocaine’ – a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA.

Tests continue on the substances found at his suite – white powder, traces of chemical crystals and prescription medicines – but a post mortem concluded that the singer died from injuries after falling 45ft.

Odom, the former Clippers, Heat, Lakers and Mavericks star, claims to have done every drug found in the singer’s system.

The 44-year-old – who was previously married to Khloe Kardashian – told TMZ that the substances could have prompted Payne to hallucinate and hear voices in his head before he fell from his room at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.

Odom – who considers crack cocaine to be the worst of all – revealed that he would hear voices during his drug-taking days.

The two-time NBA champion has come through his problems and now runs a ‘wellness treatment network’ – Odom Recovery – to help people ‘recover like a champion.

As revealed by DailyMail.com, Payne was said to be clean from drugs and winning the battle against his demons – before being dragged back into despair by drug dealers who preyed on him in Buenos Aires.

The 31-year-old had struggled with poor mental health for years and had sought treatment for his excessive alcohol and drug consumption.

But, according to a close friend, Payne had recently got clean and had been taken on by new psychiatrist in Miami where he hoped to start a new life with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

However, his recovery was shattered during his ill-fated trip to Argentina to renew his US visa when he was targeted by drug dealers who delivered them to his hotel room, a close friend has revealed.

Argentine police and prosecutors investigating the tragedy are treating it as an ‘inconclusive death’ – as they continue to hunt the drug dealer who supplied him that night.
