Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel which, was released in theatres on October 10th and acquired mixed responses from the audiences and critics.
Due to the poor word of mouth from the audiences, Vettaiyan ended up as a loss venture in its theatrical run for Lyca Productions, which had produced this movie.

As per speculations, Rajinikanth is going to do another movie for Lyca Productions as compensation for a continuous terrible loss in their collaboration from 2.0 to Vettaiyan.
Also, as per rumors, Rajinikanth has suggested Venkat Prabhu to Lyca Productions for their next movie.

It looks like Rajinikanth is acquiring Vijay’s directors to come up after a terrible loss, as previously, after the disaster Annaatthe, he worked with Nelson Dilipkumar in Jailer, who has worked with Vijay in Beast.
After Lal Salaam’s failure, he joined hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Coolie, who has worked with Vijay in two movies, which were Leo and Master. And now, after the loss of Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth is trying to do a movie with Venkat Prabhu, who has worked with Vijay in The Greatest of All Time.
