Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, was released in theatres on October 10th and has acquired mixed responses from both critics and audiences.
Mixed responses paved the way for low occupancy in theatres and ended up as Vettaiyan was an average one in the Box Office collections after the first weekend.

In this scenario, a popular theatre in Chennai has arranged three re-release shows of actor Vijay’s old hit movies, which were Leo, Kathi, and Mersal, today and 22nd October.
80% of Tickets were sold out, but yesterday, all of a sudden, the theatre declared that due to some issues, all the shows were canceled and would refund the ticket price, and also they were postponed to new dates.

As per speculations, this happened due to the Vettaiyan team’s pressure, it seems, that while the Vettaiyan movie is running in theatres, re-releasing these movies, and that too, Vijay movies may damage the theatrical run of Vettaiyan.
For this now, Vijay fans were trolling Rajinikanth as the Vettaiyan team got frightened of Vijay and canceled those shows to avoid getting exposed to poor theatrical runs.
