Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the government has taken up the initiative of Musi River’s rejuvenation, not beautification. He held a press meet this evening explaining the government’s plan to clean the Musi Riverfront in Hyderabad.
He stated that the Musi Redevelopment Project was launched to improve the lives of people living near the foul-smelling river. “There is no other city in the country with a river flowing through its central part. The Musi River, which spans over 300 km, has a rich history. Our initiative is Musi rejuvenation, not beautification,” said Revanth.

He further expressed that some opposition members are trying to spread false propaganda against this initiative. He said, “Someone will always oppose development. They are bandits who looted public money and worked with beautiful ladies. They are now trying to get into power by spreading fake news on social media. We are not like them who make false promises.”
He challenged former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to hold a Rachabanda in his own constituency. He said that he would visit any of the Ranganayaka Sagar, Mallanna Sagar, and Kondapochamma Sagar reservoirs to participate in an open debate without security.

Revanth added that 33 official teams conducted a survey of the Musi riverbed over the last six months and identified 1,600 residences on the riverbed. He mentioned that the government is planning a comprehensive strategy to relocate the people living on the Musi riverbed and provide them with better housing facilities.
